Shiromani Akali Dal of Punjab is 15th in the list of 40 regional political parties on the indicator of political funding received in financial year 2024-25 while Jannayak Janta Party of Haryana is 26th.Based on declarations made by regional parties to the Election Commission of India, a new analysis has shown that the Shiromani Akali Dal received Rs 4.0645 crore through 28 donations in the year of disclosure, doubling its funding while JJP’s political donations crashed from Rs 5.717 crore to 0.403 crore between the two years.The JJP declared receipts through 245 donations in FY 2023-24. This number has slumped to four in FY 2024-25.SAD, however, received nearly double the funding in FY 2024-25 than it did in FY 2023-24 when it had declared Rs 2.181 crore receipts through 133 donations.While the volume of the number of donations to SAD declined significantly from 133 to 28, the actual quantum of donations rose.Another regional party of Haryana —Jannayak Janta Party — received 0.403 crore in  four donations in FY 2024-25 as against Rs 5.717 crore in 245 donations in the previous financial year.The JJP faced a massive financial receipt decline between the two years of disclosure.
