Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [india], August 23 (ANI): School children took part in large numbers in the 87th Fit India Jattvibedays on Cycle held at the Swarn Jayanti Park here.Students from Om Landmark School and Green Valley School for Children had a memorable outing, enjoying a host of fun activities at the event.The 87th edition of the weekly event had the theme ‘Unnat Bharat Abhiyan’. The event started with a warm-up and PT session, which was followed by a fitness challenge where several students competed to outdo each other in push-ups, according to a release.Class IV student from Green Valley School for Children, Sayanti, added a patriotic touch to the event as she presented a dance to the popular song ‘teri mitte me mil java’. Om Landmark School’s Class X student Ravalveer impressed everyone by singing a Gujarati folk song.Green Valley School for Children’s Harshiv enlightened the participants on the subject of finance by presenting a talk on ‘Basic introduction to finance’. The students played a host of games including ‘train box’, badminton, volleyball, carrom, chess, etc.After that, the youngsters cycled inside the Sports Authority of India (SAI) National Centre of Excellence (NCoE) campus.Started by Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya in December 2024, Fit India Jattvibedays on Cycle is organised by the Sports Authority of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS), in collaboration with the Cycling Federation of India (CFI ), Indian Rope Skipping Federation, Yogasana Bharat, Raahgiri Foundation, MY Bikes and MY Bharat.The cycling drive is conducted simultaneously across all States and Union Territories, including SAI Regional Centres, National Centres of Excellence (NCOEs), SAI Training Centres (STCs), Khelo India State Centres of Excellence (KISCEs) and Khelo India Centres (KICs).
