Three days after the recovery of 30 kg of heroin by the Intelligence Wing of the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) in Fazilka district, another consignment of over 30 kg of heroin was seized by the Special Task Force (STF) in the district’s Jalalabad town during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.Gurinderbir Singh Sidhu, SP, Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Ferozepur Range, told The Tribune that acting on information, the police intercepted a car carrying three persons near Hari Krishan Cinema on the Fazilka-Ferozepur highway in Jalalabad town around midnight.During a search, the police recovered 30 packets of heroin weighing 30.672 kg from a Hyundai Verna car bearing a registration number of the neighbouring Guruharsahai subdivision of Ferozepur district.The accused have been identified as Hanspreet Singh and Anshpreet Singh, both residents of Ferozepur city, and Akash Singh, a resident of Gulam Patra village in Ferozepur district.The SP said the consignment had allegedly been taken from Alike village in Ferozepur district and was to be handed over to a person in Jalalabad town.According to the police, the consignment had been smuggled into India from Pakistan through a drone.
