Manpreet Singh Ayali, a senior Akali Dal leader who had parted ways from SAD due to differences with the president Sukhbir Singh Badal, clarified on Monday that he will only align with the panthic party, however, will never associate with the AAP, as it is not a panthic party and all of its operations are being run from Delhi. An AI-generated image is doing the rounds online, in which Ayali, Bibi Jagir Kaur and Prem Singh Chandumajra are shown with CM Bhagwant Mann, which has led people to start speculating that perhaps the three of them have joined AAP.However, Ayali refuted the same and said that the image was AI-generated and that he will never join the AAP.However, Ayali had also formed an alliance with Waris Punjab De, and a committee comprising equal representation from both Waris Punjab De and Ayali’s party was constituted. But even on that front, nothing has been finalised so far.He pointed out that many rebel SAD leaders were unhappy with the functioning of Bibi Jagir Kaur and Prem Singh Chandumajra, due to which even the Punar Surjeet faction remained divided.“Ultimately, we all have to unite and arrive at a consensus. Everyone is waiting for that,” said Ayali, adding that their roots were still with the SAD, but they were opposed to party president Sukhbir Singh Badal. “If he steps down from the presidentship for the sake of the party, everyone will show a united face,” he said.
