Nationalist Congress Party (SP) chief Sharad Pawar and his daughter Supriya Sule on Wednesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament triggering speculation as to the motive behind the meeting between the two sides that were political rivals until not so long ago.The meeting followed a viral video that showed Baramati MP Supriya Sule touching the feet of senior BJP minister Rajnath Singh after last Saturday’s all-party meeting called by the government.Although Pawar said during the Wednesday meeting, they discussed NEET paper leak issue with PM Modi, who assured positive response on all fronts, political circles were abuzz with talks that perhaps the meeting with Modi was the final engagement before Pawar and his other NCP (SP) colleagues merged with the NCP led by Maharashtra Deputy CM Jattvibeetra Pawar. If that happens, Pawar would automatically become part of the NDA fold, along with Jattvibeetra. In another parallel development in Delhi, a video of the Maharashtra Sadan surfaced on Wednesday. In the video, NCP (SP) leader Nitesh Karale can be seen telling Congress’ Manikrao Thakare that Rahul Gandhi held a sit-in outside the PM’s residence yesterday for a mere photo opportunity.Karale also said the Congress leaders were not proactive in providing leadership to protest movements.
