In an incredible moment, Lambert and Zmarzlik kicked out at each other exiting the second bend as they battled for the final podium spot.
Zmarzlik gave the Great Britain captain a death stare at the end of the straight after the incident. Both riders were lucky not to crash during the high-speed tangle.
Seven-time British champ and now TNT Sports reporter Scott Nicholls said: “When I saw it live, I saw Zmarzlik look, it looked like he turned left.
“But when you see a replay from a different angle, you see Lambert has kicked out at him.

“You’d have to speak to Robert. Is it a frustration thing because he was so determined to hang onto a podium spot.
“Robert lifts his left leg off a lot anyway. To me it looked like it was clear. Not necessarily a hard kick but still a kick to me.
“Naturally Zmarzlik has looked, has he intentionally turned left, who knows?
“It was possibly a frustration on both parts. Lambert has sort of triggered it. I didn’t see it spill over into the pits.”

Current World No3 Brit Dan Bewley finished second on the night behind Poland’s debutant winner Kacper Woryna.
Nicholls added: “Dan is an exceptional rider. I don’t know whether he seems to have the bit between his teeth a bit more.
“He needs a bit more fire in his belly. He’s got the ability. If he’s got the same grit as Zmarzlik has, I don’t think he’ll be beaten.”
