Disturbing footage showed the victims, including a pregnant woman, being forced into vehicles by a group of enforcers in the Afghan capital.

In the clip broadcast by US-based local outlet Amu TV, several people wearing hijabs are seen being beaten as morality cops apprehend them.
A witness claimed a pregnant woman was among those being struck.

Her husband reportedly pleaded with extremist chiefs to let his wife go.
One bystander told the outlet: “They detained 20 girls and took them away.

“Among them was a pregnant woman. Her husband was crying and saying, ‘My wife is unwell. Do not hurt her, do not harass her’.
“She was two or three months pregnant. They hit her and dragged her away.”
One of the victims described how Taliban officers “grabbed” and ripped her collar during the encounter.

The woman said: “When the struggle began, I resisted for five minutes. When they could not overpower me, a man came, grabbed me and took me away.”
She told how she was slapped and ordered to wear a face mask.
“Look at how they treated me,” the woman added.
“When he slapped me in the face, I pulled off the mask and hit him with it, and I started fighting.
“I said I would not wear a mask and that from now on, as long as I am alive, I will not wear one.”
The Taliban seized control of Afghanistan five years ago and have continued to expand their brutal crackdown on women’s freedoms and human rights.
The women and girls from the video are understood to have been released after their families and local authorities provided guarantees for them.
It comes after a series of oppressive attacks against Afghan women this year by the Taliban’s morality police.
Last month, at least nine women were rounded up over two days as the regime enforced its strict Sharia law dress codes.
Kabul locals have also reported a surge in Taliban morality police street patrols.
Earlier this year, the brutal regime legalised domestic violence in Afghanistan.
Signed off by supreme leader Hibatullah Akhundzada, the 90-page criminal code allowed husbands to physically abuse their wives and children – so long as it does not result in “broken bones or open wounds”.
