Exactly five months after the release of slain Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala’s record-breaking track ‘Barota’, his team on Monday night released his 13th posthumous song, ‘Eyes On Me’, on social media.‘Barota’, released on November 28 last year, has become the second most commented video globally on YouTube, crossing 10 million comments.At the end of the new song, it was also announced that Moosewala’s clothing brand will be launched soon.The teaser of the new track was released three days ago and has garnered 1.4 million likes on Instagram and 3.1 million views on YouTube.The YouTube premiere of ‘Eyes On Me’ was watched live by nearly 1.6 lakh viewers. Within minutes of its release, the song registered several lakh views and began trending online.The 2.50-minute video features intense and dramatic visuals, including masked and armed men, a G-Wagon moving through the rain, and a leopard. It also includes scenes depicting violence, including a blast depicted outside a court complex in Bathinda and individuals carrying weapons, probably showing the attempts made to kill him in the past.The track features gritty and hard-hitting verses that reflect themes of violence, fear and betrayal, with lines such as ‘Tenu kise nu nahi bachauna, sun le meri gall’ and ‘Chamber vich goli rakh, mahol kharaab hai’. The lyrics also make references, including ‘Death da messenger WhatsApp ban janda hai’, while portraying a tense environment marked by threats and insecurity. One of the lines describes Moosewala as “death for antis”, reinforcing his larger-than-life persona, alongside references to weapons, explosives and the need for bulletproof protection.The video concludes on an emotional note, showing Moosewala leaving on his final ride in a jeep from his ‘haveli’, while his father Balkaur Singh is seen waving.Moosewala, a resident of Moosa village in Mansa district, was shot dead at Jawaharke village on May 29, 2022, at the age of 28. He had unsuccessfully contested the Assembly election on a Congress ticket from Mansa in 2022.Moosewala’s hologram-based world tour, titled ‘Signed to God World Tour’, is also expected to begin soon. The tour will use hologram technology (3D projection) to recreate his stage presence for fans worldwide. It is expected to cover eight countries — India, Pakistan, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Australia and New Zealand.
