The music legend was spotted cheering in the stands with his two sons —despite being too ill to perform a gig in California just 24 hours earlier.

Sir Rod, who has bravely battled both prostate and thyroid cancer, was due to take the stage in the Golden State as part of the American leg of his One Last Time tour.

But he pulled out at the eleventh hour, sharing an emotional statement with devastated fans revealing he was simply too unwell to perform.

However, any burning concerns over the veteran’s health were quickly put to bed when the TV cameras panned to the music icon basking in the Boston atmosphere.

He was spotted living it up in the stands with sons Alastair and Liam, and it looked like the trio were making the absolute most of the historic occasion.

Sir Rod even had TWO drinks sitting proud in front of him as he enjoyed the party, clearly feeling a whole lot better.
