Police in Amravati have arrested a man accused of sexually exploiting multiple minor girls and recording explicit videos, officials said on Wednesday.The accused, identified as Mohammad Ayaz alias Tanveer from Paratwada, was taken into custody following a complaint raised by Rajya Sabha MP Anil Bonde.He allegedly exploited at least 180 minor girls and recording over 350 obscene videos.Allegations and modus operandiAccording to police sources, the accused allegedly used social media platforms such as WhatsApp and Snapchat to contact minor girls and lure them into relationships. He is suspected of taking victims to cities including Mumbai and Pune, where he allegedly recorded explicit videos.He used these videos later to blackmail victims. Authorities are also examining claims that some content may have been circulated online.Police action and investigationActing swiftly, local police arrested the accused and presented him before a court, which remanded him to seven days of police custody. Officials confirmed that a mobile phone has been seized and is being examined for digital evidence.The Cyber Cell has joined the investigation to trace any online distribution of the alleged videos and identify potential links to wider networks.Official responseSuperintendent of Police (Rural) Vishal Anand is overseeing the investigation.
