A SOMALI man has been charged with attempted murder after a support staff worker was stabbed at a hotel reportedly used to house asylum seekers.

Abdifatah Yusuf Adani, 22, allegedly stabbed a man in his 30s at a hotel in Surrey, at 6.30pm yesterday.

Armed officers raced to the scene and the victim was rushed to hospital after suffering life-threatening injuries.

A statement from the Met read: “Abdifatah Yusuf Adani, 22, has this evening been charged with one count of attempted murder following a report of a stabbing at the Stanwell Hotel in Stanwell at 6.30pm yesterday evening.

“Adani, a Somalian national, has been remanded in custody and will appear at Staines Magistrates Court tomorrow morning at 10am.

“The victim, a man in his 30s who is a staff worker at the hotel, is now in a stable condition and his injuries are no longer thought to be life threatening.
