Describing the experience as ‘eventful’, he wrote: “I was driving to London last night and then… I think I hit something or went over something on the M25 and my tyre pressure went right down and then there was an awful noise as the rubber burst and the rim starting scraping on the floor!”
The presenter explained he pulled on to the hard shoulder around 9.30pm, after which he called breakdown cover.

Initially told help was on the way, Dan soon hit an unfortunate snag.
He continued: “They said they would come and get me but then… the truck driver called back about an hour later to say… ‘you’re not going to believe this… they’ve closed the motorway. We can’t get to you’”.

The presenter outlined how he was, therefore, left on a “completely empty M25”.
Dan attempted flagging down a high way maintenance vehicle so a tow truck could be let through – which it eventually was.
He concluded: “I had to abandon my car at the services somewhere… got to bed after 1am… tired but thankful… today is definitely a day for a second cup of tea!
“I’m getting the car picked up later but there is such an embarrassing collection of tat in the boot.
“It reads like the conveyor belt on The Generation Game.”
In addition, Dan revealed he had successfully made it to Classic FM on time.
One person commented: “Thankfully you’re safe and that’s what counts!”
Another added: “Gosh what an awful time. Glad you are safe now.”
While a third wrote: “How things can change in an instant.”
