The Delhi Police have apprehended four persons, including three juveniles, in connection with the alleged gang rape and murder of a teenage girl whose body was found in the Swaroop Nagar area, officials said.The accused has been identified as Shivam, alias Sudama, a resident of Khadda Colony. The three juveniles are aged between 16 and 17 years.According to the police, the Swaroop Nagar police station received information on the morning of September 13 about a girl’s body lying in an open field near the farm of one Jaipal Rana, close to Kushak Road and Lal Boundary.During investigation, the police examined CCTV footage from the surrounding area and noticed a suspicious tempo moving near the spot. The vehicle was subsequently traced and recovered, which helped investigators identify and apprehend the four suspects.According to police sources, one of the juveniles is allegedly a friend of the girl. The suspects had reportedly reached the spot together in the tempo and had consumed alcohol, sources said.Police suspect that the girl was allegedly killed after the accused feared that she would report the sexual assault to the police. Investigators are, however, verifying the sequence of events and the role of each accused through forensic and technical evidence.
