A BABY has tragically died after being rushed to hospital with cops arresting a man and woman.
Cops and emergency services were called to a property in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, over concerns for the welfare of a baby on Thursday afternoon.

The baby was taken to hospital but died a short time later.
Two people have been arrested and released on bail.
A man wasarrested on suspicion of causing or allowing the death of a child.
Cops confirmed that a woman has been arrested on suspicion of neglect
A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: “Shortly after 1.45pm yesterday (Thursday), we received a report via the ambulance service of concern for the welfare of a baby in the Gateshead area. The baby was taken to hospital but tragically died a short time later.
“Our thoughts are with their loved ones at this time.
“We immediately launched an investigation, and two people have been arrested in connection with the report.
“A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing or allowing the death of a child, and a woman has been arrested on suspicion of neglect.
“Both have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
“The investigation is very much at an early stage, and we would ask people to avoid speculation as officers take the necessary time to establish the circumstances.”
