The husband of actor-model Twisha Sharma, who has been absconding since her death nearly 10 days ago, is prepared to surrender before authorities, his lawyer has said amid an intensifying investigation into the alleged dowry death case.Twisha Sharma, 33, was found hanging at her marital home in the Katara Hills area of Bhopal on May 12. Her family accused her husband and in-laws of subjecting her to harassment and mental torture over dowry demands, allegations denied by the accused family, who claimed she struggled with drug addiction.Following her death, Bhopal Police registered an FIR under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita related to dowry death, cruelty by husband or relatives, and common intention. The case names her husband Samarth Singh and mother-in-law Giribala Singh as accused.Police earlier announced a cash reward of Rs 30,000 for information leading to Samarth Singh’s arrest and also approached the court seeking revocation of his passport to prevent him from leaving the country.In a significant development, the Government of Madhya Pradesh on Friday proposed transferring the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).According to a notification issued by Home Department Secretary Krishnaveni Desavatu, the state government has granted consent under the Delhi Special Police Establishment Act to extend the jurisdiction of the CBI across Madhya Pradesh for investigation of the case.The notification stated that the proposed transfer covers investigation into the alleged dowry death, along with any related offences, abetment, or criminal conspiracy linked to the incident.
