Two motorcyclists in 50s and 60s are killed in horror rush hour crash on country road

TWO motorcyclists, in their 50s and 60s, have sadly died following a horror multi-vehicle collision on a country road.

Police were called to reports of the smash on the B676 between Melton and Saxby in Leicestershire, yesterday.

A Yamaha motorbike and a Honda motorcycle as well as an Audi A4 were involved in the deadly collision.

East Midlands Ambulance service attended the crash but tragically the two motorcyclists were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was not injured.

No arrests have been made in the aftermath of the fatal smash with police now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Anyone with any information that may assist Leicestershire Constabulary with its investigation is asked to come forward.

Detective Constable Emma Neeves said: “Enquiries into this incident are continuing today and I’d like to speak to anyone who can help.

“I’m appealing for any motorists who were on that stretch of road yesterday to come forward and I’d like to speak to anyone with a dashcam.

“My appeal for information also includes anyone who witnessed the collision or saw any of the vehicles beforehand.

“Anything you’re able to provide or tell us, no matter how insignificant you think it is, could assist our investigation.”
