Three Lions stars clapped their hands, jumped for joy and danced to music after battling to a 3-2 win over joint-hosts Mexico at the Azteca Stadium.

They overcame high altitude, a hostile Mexican crowd and played 40 minutes of the game with 10 men to book their place in the World Cup quarter-finals.
But Rooney had a pained expression on his face when footage of the party – which included John Stones hilariously fooling Thomas Tuchel with a fake shoulder injury – was played after the BBC‘s coverage of Portugal vs Spain.
England‘s former record goalscorer said: “I’m a bit more old school. After you win anything… I know you’ve got to enjoy it but I think it’s a bit too soon.”
Chelsea legend Cesar Azpilicueta, who was in good spirits after watching Spain notch a stoppage-time win over their neighbours, disagreed.

He said: “As a player, when you have had these kinds of games against a host, this atmosphere, you have to enjoy it.
“Life is about balance, football is about balance, you have to enjoy it.
“Now they will recover and be ready for another game.”
