Man Utd manager Michael Carrick has several injury concerns to manage ahead of the fixture.
New signing Carlos Baleba, who completed a £70million move from Brighton this week, is unavailable.
Baleba, 22, is recovering from an ankle injury picked up during pre-season in Austria.
Winger Amad Diallo remains out due to a problem he sustained in training.
Midfielder Mason Mount returned to training this week and could be involved against Ipswich.
Striker Benjamin Sesko is pushing for a starting spot after returning from a shin injury to feature off the bench last weekend.
Carrick remains without long-term absentees Manuel Ugarte, who suffered a serious knee injury at the World Cup, and Matthijs de Ligt, who is recovering from back surgery.
Goalkeeper Tom Heaton is also sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Ipswich Town manager Gary O’Neil, who took charge in June after Kieran McKenna stepped down, will be looking to build on an opening-day 2-1 win over Jattvibederland.
