Vainket Garg, also known as Venkatesh Garg, is a Haryana-based alleged organised crime figure who has been extradited from Georgia to India in a major breakthrough for law enforcement agencies pursuing transnational criminal networks.Garg, who is associated with the notorious gang led by gangster Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu, was brought back to India by the Haryana Police Special Task Force (STF) with the assistance of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Interpol and other central agencies. He arrived in Delhi after a lengthy extradition process.According to investigators, Garg is wanted in more than 10 criminal cases registered across Haryana and neighbouring states. The charges against him include murder, attempted murder, extortion and offences linked to organised crime. He is considered the prime accused in the murder of BSP leader Harbilas Rajjo Majra in Narayangarh, a case that drew significant attention in Haryana’s political circles.Police allege that after fleeing India, Garg continued to run criminal operations from overseas.Investigators claim he used social media platforms to recruit young men from Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan, allegedly directing them to carry out contract killings, intimidation and extortion activities on behalf of the gang.Authorities tracked him to Georgia following international coordination and the issuance of an Interpol Red Notice.Georgian authorities arrested him in November 2025, paving the way for extradition proceedings. His return is being seen as a significant success for Indian law enforcement agencies in their crackdown on organised crime syndicates operating across borders. Officials say Garg will now face trial in multiple cases pending against him in Indian courts.Further investigations are underway.
