Why did George leave Love Island?
The Jattvibe exclusively broke the news of George’s departure, with a show spokesman confirming: “For private reasons, George has left the Love Island villa.”
At the time, a source said: “Duty of care for the Islanders is paramount so at this stage any further comment will come from George.
“Bosses and viewers alike had been loving his contribution.”
George initially kept his cards close to his chest, sharing only a brief statement online.

Love Island’s George Knight reveals his reason for shock villa exit
He wrote: “Family comes first, always. Leaving the @loveisland Villa was a decision made in order to be with my family.
“Out of respect for them, I’d prefer not to go into any further detail.
“Thank you to everyone who has reached out with kind messages and support! It genuinely means a lot.”
He has since broken his silence on The Jattvibe’s Showbiz Fix podcast, explaining exactly what happened and recalling the moment he was called out of the villa on Thursday, June 4.
George said: “I was expecting just to receive a usual question, like ask how I’m doing or what’s the plan for the day.
“And they just said that one of the producers on site was going to meet me at the front door and that they had some information for you and the execs wanted to see you.
“And I was thinking, oh God, what could this be about? Once the execs put you in, you don’t see them again, really.”
“They said that my parents had been in touch and that they had some news for me and that they were going to give me a call.
“It is all very private. But it was a health concern with a member of the immediate family.
“They said they felt like they weren’t doing their role as a parent if they didn’t let me know.
“And with what was said, I just felt like it was the right thing to come home.”
Amid speculation about whether he should have gone into the villa at all, he said: “This was not on my radar to be a concern and definitely not in the next few sort of months. That’s the honest truth.
“I was obviously aware [of the health issue], but it was not something that we needed to concern ourselves about in the eight week period that I could have been away or even longer than that.
“There was no second guessing my decision to leave.”
“You’ve got to remind yourself that as much as reality TV is fantastic and great, the priority is your family and who’s close to you and has been in your entire life. And that’s why I came to that conclusion.”
George also shut down a theory that he had agreed a secret code with his family to pull him out if he proved unpopular.
He said: “What a load of nonsense. A code!”
“I think, well, firstly, I was overwhelmed by the positive, nice, kind words and messages and people reaching out, stopping me on the street and stuff, which is still bamboozling me every second.
“But for every 15 nice messages, you get one that is just vile. Like it’s horrible. Like it really is horrible.
“Obviously people are gonna speculate, but that’s why I’m doing this. The truth is always what people want to know and that’s why I’m here.”

Who is starring in Love Island?
The remaining cast for Love Island 2026 is as follows:
Robyn, 21, quantity surveyor and DJ from Liverpool – she said: “Finding love is my only goal. There may be a little bit of drama, but I’m going in there for myself, so I’ve got to do what I’ve got to do.”
Mica, 21, student from Barbados (lives in London) – she said: “Definitely someone that’s tall, I’m tall myself so I like to feel small. The most important thing for me is personality. I just want someone that will make me laugh.”
Lorenzo, 28, business owner from Hertfordshire – he said: “It’s a major turn off when someone doesn’t have manners. I like a little bit of high maintenance when it’s done in the right way but if someone is rude with it… I’d find that quite irritating.”
Sean, 25, primary school teacher from Galway – he said: “I’m here for love but also here for drama. I won’t be getting involved in it, I might be mixing it!”
Ellie, 24, real estate videographer from West Lothian – she said: “There’s nothing else I can do than be me. People love me and if they don’t then they’re clearly not okay. We’re all there for one reason, but I’m going to get my win.”
Samraj, 25, model from Birmingham – he said: “Without sounding arrogant, in the outside world I don’t really chase that much, I’m used to girls coming to me. In the beginning I’m not going to be pushing myself out there, I’m just gonna watch and see who I like.”
Lola, 28, detective from Kent – she said: “I like tall, Italian looking. Dark hair normally, even though I always end up with blondes! I like someone who is quite big as in a good cuddler.”
Angelista, 24, nurse from Staffordshire – she said: “I’ll put myself in the position to be seen by the guys so they know I’m interested, but I’m not gonna beg it. I’ll be in the mix, 100%, I’m not watching in the back.”
Samuel, 25, electrician from Dudley – he said: “I’d say I can be too nice sometimes. In the past, I’ve gone on a few dates with someone, realised I wasn’t feeling it anymore, but avoided saying anything because I didn’t want to hurt them.”
Ope, 27, West End performer from Lincolnshire – he said: “I like shorter girls, I’m really big on hair, good teeth and a nice smile. I prefer Northerners because they’ve got better craic. I honestly just go on energy, vibes and if you find my jokes funny.”
Jasmine, 27, fashion business owner from Dubai (lives in London) – she said: “An insecure man. Honestly, how would he deal with me? I pick up on insecurity straight away, and it just wouldn’t end well.”
Aidan, 23, property broker from Kent – he said: “Personality is the most important thing for me. I like someone who’s fun, can take a joke and doesn’t take themselves too seriously. If we’re constantly laughing and getting on, that’s what matters most.”
Yasmin, 23, recruitment consultant from Kent – arriving as one of this year’s first bombshells, she said: “I think it would be difficult to go for the same guy as a girl if we were like best friends in the villa. That’s what I’m worried about! Then again, if I like her man, I’m gonna have to go for it and have those conversations.”
Kevan, 21, electrician from Kent – Islander Aidan’s brother, who arrived as a bombshell, said: “I like someone who’s driven, confident, and looks after themselves, whether that’s through the gym or just taking care of themselves in general.”
Priya, 25, business development manager from London – arriving as a bombshell, she said: “I’m quite sassy and maybe a little high-maintenance. I feel like I’m down-to-earth as well.”
Namibia, 25, Leeds, customer service officer – arriving as a bombshell, she said: “If someone comes to me, I’ll back myself. I won’t start it, but I’ll finish it.”
Victoria, 25, Manchester, personal assistant – arriving as a bombshell, she’s is on the hunt for a “tall” and “handsome” man, and prefers to “stay on the sidelines” when drama erupts.
