A junior cycling race in Germany took a rather unexpected turn when an elderly spectator on a mobility scooter accidentally moved onto the course, triggering a dramatic multi-rider crash caught on camera.The incident occurred during the Saarland Trofeo Juniors in which more than 100 cyclists were competing.The clip circulating online shows the woman slowly steering her mobility scooter away from a group of spectators and onto the race route just as cyclist approached at high speed.While one cyclist managed to swerve clear of the scooter at the last moment, the rider directly behind had no chance to avoid a collision. At least five cyclists were involved in the pile-up.Among those caught in the crash was Dutch cyclist Paul Vriesman, who later shared an update on social media. Describing it as “a very nasty looking crash,” Vriesman said he had “got away with it relatively well” despite being involved in the incident.
