FORMER Wimbledon champion Barbara Krejcikova beat this year’s French Open winner Mirra Andreeva in a match that was forced to compete with Harry Kane and co for the crowd’s attention.
Russian teen sensation Andreeva took the first set 6-4 before the experienced Czech battled back to win the second 7-5.

But in the third set, there seemed to be inconveniences at every turn for the Roland Garros winner.
First, she saw her bracelet rip mid-point, leading to her calling in vain for a replay as beads fell all over the turf.
And then as she hit a backhand long, she looked on with bewilderment as the grasps of the crowds turned into awkward cheers as Harry Kane scored the winner for England against DR Congo at the exact same time.
One fan posted: “Pretty funny scenes as Andreeva misses a routine backhand way long and the Centre Court crowd cheers raucously for the 2nd Kane goal.

“Mirra’s face said ‘wtf’.”
It is not known whether was more annoyed about her shot or the crowd’s reaction to it, but the cheers from Centre Court did not go unnoticed by the commentary team.
The BBC commentator said: “Big cheer around the court again. England have scored another goal.”
And she then joked: “That and the fact that Krejcikova saved the break point I’m sure.”

2024 champion Krejcikova looked set to earn the victory at 5-2 up, but Andreeva then broke after a marathon of deuces at 5-3 to put the set back on serve.
But it was the Czech who used all her nous to break again in the next game and secure a 6-4, 7-5, 6-4 victory.
