WREXHAM are reportedly targetting a shock deal to sign Jamie Vardy.

The ex-Leicester striker is a free agent following his one season in Italy with Cremonese.

He ruled out an emotional return to the King Power or his boyhood club Sheffield Wednesday.

But Hollywood pair Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney might try and lure him to North Wales.

According to the Daily Mail, Wrexham are looking into Vardy as a target.

However, it is understood the 39-year-old is still assessing his options.

With Vardy being unattached, he does not need to sign a deal before the 11pm transfer window deadline.

Instead, he is able to decide his future and join a new team at a later date should he wish.
