AN X FACTOR star has shared an emotional throwback clip with Britney Spears as he said “I miss you” amid the singer’s struggles.

The former judge on the telly talent show was behind Britney’s iconic I’m A Slave 4 U routine, famously performed with a snake at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards.

He captioned the emotional throwback: “Found this and smiled. @britneyspears I miss you.”

Britney, 44, who has bipolar disorder, famously shaved her head in 2007, and the following year she was put in a conservatorship, which put her personal and financial affairs in the hands of her dad, Jamie.

It’s been five years since she was released from her conservatorship following the Free Britney campaign, but insiders recently said the pop superstar is more lost than ever.

She has been arrested for a DUI and faced accusations of bizarre behaviour including making barking sounds at a restaurant and brandishing a knife.

An insider said: “Some people close to Britney can’t help wondering whether she’s actually happier now than she was then.

“The sad reality is that she seems incredibly isolated. She spends most of her time at home and her world has become smaller and smaller over the years.

“Those around her would love to see her thriving, but instead they worry she’s become increasingly detached from everyone else.”

In 2023, Britney split from her third husband Sam Asghari – less than a year after tying the knot – and we’re told the break-up had a huge impact on the mum-of-two.

She shares Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, with ex-husband Kevin  Federline and has struggled with a strained relationship with her sons for years.

Our source said: “The divorce hit her hard and she hasn’t appeared to find the stability or companionship she craves and desperately needs.”

Meanwhile, Brian has crafted routines for global superstars including Britney, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber and Cher Lloyd.

He was brought in by Simon Cowell, and originally replaced Louis Walsh on the judging panel for the fourth series of The X Factor.

Midway through the audition stages, he stepped down from the panel.

It was widely reported that the judging dynamic wasn’t quite working, and there was viewer backlash over the chemistry on the panel.

Instead, he took on the role of Creative Director working behind the scenes to shape performances and mentor contestants.

He later took up the same Creative Director role on the US version of The X Factor, continuing to mastermind the show’s biggest moments.
