Sharing a video on Facebook, the former wrestler said: “I have some bad news. I start chemo today.

“One in 750 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and I’m one of them.

“Because it’s rarely talked about, it’s usually found at later stages and has worse outcomes. I want to change that.”

Staying upbeat, despite his health battle, Tyler said: “Come along for my journey to kick this thing in the a**

“Send this to 10 of your friends and have them follow me because people need to hear this.”

The Canadian star, who is also known for playing Michael Myers in two of the Halloween movies, ended the video by showing he was in hospital about to begin chemo.

“F**k cancer!” the defiant actor announced.

Tyler explained more in the caption of his Facebook post.

“Yep. I have breast cancer. And yep, it’s super rare. Only 1% of breast cancers are in men.

“I’ll be honest, my first reaction was to keep it secret. I mean it’s kind of embarrassing.

“But then I found out that men are more likely to be diagnosed in advance stages BECAUSE it’s not talked about and not looked for.”

Praising his wife Renae for her support, he added: “In fact, my doctors all dismissed it and it was only because my wife pushed me to get the lump removed that I got in early.

What are the signs of breast cancer?

Signs and symptoms
Stay alert to symptoms of breast cancer which include:

A lump or swelling in the breast, upper chest or armpit
A change to the skin, such as puckering or dimpling
A change in the colour of the breast – the breast may look red or inflamed
A nipple change, for example, it has become pulled in (inverted)
Rash or crusting around the nipple
Unusual liquid (discharge) from either nipple
Changes in the size or shape of the breast

On its own, pain in your breasts is not usually a sign of breast cancer. But look out for pain in your breast or armpit that’s there all or almost all the time.
Although rare, men can get breast cancer. The most common symptom of breast cancer in men is a lump in the chest area.
Check your breasts
There’s no special way to check your breasts and you do not need any training. At Breast Cancer Now, they say, it’s as simple as TLC: Touch, Look, Check:

Touch your breasts: can you feel anything new or unusual?
Look for changes: does anything look different to you?
Check any new or unusual changes with a GP

“So let’s start talking about it! 1 in 755 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and if caught early, it’s VERY treatable. Time to answer the Wake Up Call! Like, Save, Share, Comment let’s spread the word!”

Tyler’s fans immediately rushed to show their support, with one saying: “You’ve got this! Can’t keep Sabertooth down!’”

Another added: “Cancer versus Michael Myers, I don’t like the outcome for the cancer.”

A third said: “Sending prayers, just remember…. You can’t kill the boogeyman!!! Cancer is messing with the wrong person.”

While a fourth commented: God be with you. Also, you will dominate this thing. You played both Sabertooth and Michael Myers.

“Both have amazing healing factors. Cancer isn’t taking you down.”

Tyler first found fame as a wrestler in the 80s and 90s, before heading to Hollywood to become an actor.

In 2000, he thrilled X-Men fans when he brought to life Sabretooth in X-Men.

Tyler also reprised the role in 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine film.

Away from X-Men, he is also known for playing evil Michael Myers to life in the 2007 Halloween reboot and its sequel two years later.
