Free supermarket breakfast

Thanks to the return of Morrisons’ Breakfast Club, kids can eat for free during the holidays.

Morrisons Café visitors can enjoy a bowl of Kellogg’s cereal and a piece of fruit at no cost.

The offer will run nationwide until September 6 and includes a choice of Cornflakes or Rice Krispies

Free restaurant meals

Restaurants, pubs and café chains across the UK are offering free kids’ meals or heavily discounted children’s menus throughout the summer.

The little ones can eat for free when one accompanying adult buys a meal.

Major chains across the country are running the promotion including Bella Italia, Burger King, Brewdog, Franco Manca and others.

Join a football club

Young football fans can score a free coaching session this summer thanks to Kellogg’s Football Camps, run in partnership with the English Football League.

There are 39,000 places available across 73 clubs for children aged five to 15 throughout July and August.

To claim a place, parents need to buy a promotional pack of Kellogg’s cereal and enter the code online.

Demand is high, so it’s worth checking availability as soon as possible.

In-store workshops

Several high street retailers are also running free children’s activities during the school holidays.

Ikea, Pets at Home and Waterstones are hosting a series of free workshops and interactive sessions.

It’s best to check with your local branch as activities vary by location.

Free holiday clubs

Thousands of eligible families can access free holiday clubs through the government’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme.

The scheme provides childcare, activities and meals for children receiving benefits-related free school meals in England.

Free museums

Many of Britain’s biggest museums remain completely free to enter.

Families can spend a full day exploring attractions such as the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, British Museum, National Railway Museum and dozens more without paying an entrance fee.

Free library activities

Libraries across the UK host free events during the holidays, including craft sessions, storytelling, coding clubs and reading challenges.

Nature trails

The National Trust, local wildlife trusts and Forestry England all offer free self-guided walks and nature trails at many locations.

Families can enjoy woodland adventures, wildlife spotting and outdoor play without spending a penny, although parking charges may apply at some sites.

Nature in the city

You don’t need to travel to the countryside to introduce little ones to farm animals.

Many towns and cities have free community farms, where children can meet goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, rabbits and other friendly animals without paying an entry fee.

Cheap cinema

Summer is also one of the cheapest times to take the family to the cinema, with major chains offering heavily discounted children’s screenings.

Cineworld, Odeon, Vue and Picturehouse have all slashed their ticket prices for the little ones, with some prices starting as low as £1.
