BRITISH boxer Joe Laws pulled out of his fight in Nigeria after getting caught up in a TEAR GAS attack in the arena.
Laws was due to face Elvis Ahorga in a grudge match in Lagos – where the event is headlined by two popular social media influencers.

Boxers were forced to cover their mouths
Joe Laws was set to fight in Lagos
And carnage broke out when fans without tickets tried to force their way into the venue to watch Portable vs Carter Efe’s headline bout
Eventually, security used tear gas to try and get the situation under control and usher out the unticketed fans.
But Laws – who was warming up at the time – was caught up in the situation and was effected by the gas.
He reportedly ripped his wraps off and stormed out of the venue – refusing to fight after the troubling scenes.

DAZN cameras caught the moment the referee in the ring officiating the fight at the time had to call off the bout.
Basit Adebayo was facing Loren Japhet at the time when the two fighters and ref broke out into coughs before it was eventually halted.
The commentator said: “It does look like we’re going to have to take a break for people to get themselves back.”
Another commentator added: “So we’ve had confirmation that apparently there is some tear gas in the air.”

Eventually, the boxing did resume once security initially evacuated the premises and removed fans without tickets.
