Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Jattvibeday termed Opposition parties as “anti-Punjab”, alleging that they had joined hands to malign his government.Maintaining that his government remained focused on development and public welfare, he asserted that people would reject their “misleading narratives” in future.The CM made the remarks during a Lok Milni programme at Ghogra village in Dasuya, a day after he accused the Opposition of hatching conspiracies to defame him.Mann had come under fire over his alleged “misconduct” in the state Assembly on May 1, with the Opposition BJP and Congress alleging that he attended the proceedings in an “inebriated condition”.Mann said his government had ensured that public money was spent on public welfare.Highlighting the passage of the Jaagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act, 2026, he said the desecration of Guru Granth Sahib would now attract life imprisonment.Launching a sharp attack on Opposition parties, including the SAD, Mann accused them of “drowning Punjab in drugs” and spreading daily propaganda to defame the state.
