The alleged fake evidence suggested actor Kim Soo-hyun had dated actress Kim Sae-ron while she was still underage.
The allegations first emerged after Sae-ron took her own life aged 24.
A household name in South Korea, Soo-hyun’s career was upended by the scandal.
He has consistently denied the allegations, but his career has been derailed with several major brands cutting ties with the actor.

Months after Sae-ron’s death, YouTuber Se-ui posted a voice recording in which the actress could be heard saying she had dated Soo-hyun since she was 15 years old.
Se-ui, who has close to a million followers on his channel, also posted screenshots of text messages he claimed were sent between the pair.
But authorities now say the voice recording was generated by AI.
The screenshots were also manipulated and posted online for the YouTuber’s own financial gain, investigators say.

His actions “collapsed Kim Soo-hyun’s social base and his economic activities across the board” cops said.
The police filing, seen by news outlet JoongAng Ilbo, added that the scandal has “destroyed the basis for his professional survival”.
As a result Soo-hyun is under psychiatric treatment, cops said.
Se-ui has since posted a video claiming the authorities warrant for his arrest was an attempt to “disrupt his investigation”.
After he first posted the allegations, Soo-hyun’s family backed him up.
But her agency denied the couple had ever dated.
Soo-hyun admitted he dated the actress for a year – but only when she was an adult.
Speaking through tears at a press conference last year, the actor insisted the pair never dated while she was underage.
“I can’t admit something I didn’t do”, he said.
Soo-hyun filed criminal complaints and a lawsuit against the YouTuber and the actresses family in March 2025.
Once a regular on the screen for hit TV shows and advertisements, he has not made an official public appearance since.
The release of Knock-Off, a Disney+ series he was working on when the allegations broke, has been postponed indefinitely.
