The stage is set for the counting of votes for the 103 civic bodies on Friday, polling for which were held on Tuesday.As many as 21.38 lakh voters exercised their franchise to elect their local representatives across eight municipal corporations, 75 municipal councils and 19 nagar panchayats. The fate of 7,554 candidates in the fray will be decided tomorrow.”Arrangements have been made by the State Election Commission for the free, fair and transparent counting of votes, which will commence at 8 am. Counting supervisors and assistants will be deputed after randomisation by the election observer in each district. Two micro-observers have been deputed for each counting centre. They will work under the direct supervision of the general observer of the district and submit their reports accordingly. Entry into the counting hall shall be restricted to authorised persons only,” said State Election Commissioner Raj Kamal Chaudhari.
