The Election Commission of India has revised the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls with the draft publication of electoral rolls now taking place on August 3 instead of July 31. The period for filing claims and objections has been revised from August 3 to September 2, while the notice phase and disposal of claims and objections will be undertaken from August 3 to September 28.The Election Commission of India has revised the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls with reference to January 1, 2026, as the qualifying date in Punjab to facilitate the smooth conduct of the revision process.All remaining activities under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) programme shall continue in Mohali as per the schedule already communicated by the Election Commission of India. The process of filling Enumeration Forms will be carried out from June 25 to July 24, followed by the subsequent stages of the revision exercise as per the prescribed timeline.All Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, Booth Level Officers and other officials concerned have been directed to ensure wide publicity of the revised schedule so that every eligible voter is aware of the timelines and can participate effectively in the revision process.
