Noor Singla, a resident of Patiala, has secured All India Rank (AIR) 1 in the Chartered Accountant (CA) Final Examination 2026, the results of which were declared by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India on Thursday.Noor topped the prestigious national examination by scoring an outstanding 499 marks out of 600 (83.17 per cent), emerging as the country’s highest scorer.Hailing from a middle-class family in Patiala, Noor is the son of local businessman Gagandeep Singla and homemaker Sujata Singla. He has two sisters, one of whom is a chartered accountant, while the other is a postgraduate.A former student of DAV Public School, Patiala, Noor completed his Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) degree from Indira Gandhi National Open University.Noor said he opted for self-study after completing his senior secondary education in 2022. He credited his elder sister, a chartered accountant, for constantly guiding and motivating him throughout his journey.This is not Noor’s first national-level achievement. Earlier, he had secured AIR 2 in the CA intermediate examination. With AIR 1 in the CA final now added to his credentials, Noor has scripted an inspiring success story for aspiring chartered accountants across the country.Family members, teachers and well-wishers celebrated the achievement, describing it as a proud moment for Patiala and Punjab.
