The experienced Spaniard joined Ajax in February, initially to coach their reserve team in the second tier.
Garcia is good friends with Ajax’s technical director Jordi Cruyff, and insisted at the time that he did not want the club’s main job.
After just five matches with the Amsterdam side’s reserves, however, Garcia was promoted to first team interim boss in place of struggling Fred Grim.
Ajax won five of Garcia’s 10 matches at the helm, drawing three and losing two.

Upon the conclusion of the season, Ajax appointed former Girona boss Michel as their new manager.
Rather than return to his initial post with the club’s reserves, Garcia will now leave the club.
Cruyff, 52, said: “Oscar joined Ajax U23 at a difficult moment.
“Shortly afterwards, we needed him with the first team, and that was not an easy situation either.

“We are grateful for his efforts and, of course, wish him every success in the next stage of his career.”
Ajax finished fifth in the Eredivisie under Garcia’s watch – qualifying for the Conference League.
The traditional Dutch giants have struggled in recent years, cycling through several managers.
Since last winning the title under Erik ten Hag in 2022, Ajax have been coached by; Alfred Schreuder, Hedwiges Maduro, Francesco Farioli, John Heitinga, Grim, Garcia and now Michel.
