All three women knew Lux by name and appearance, a court heard.

He was allegedly behind 50 strange encounters which authorities claimed escalated over time.

Staff working at the Department of Conservation and Recreation were afraid to work near him, it is alleged.

The accusations have sparked several reactions on social media – with some users claiming that they recognise the suspect.

A handful of accounts seemingly from Massachusetts claimed Lux had approached them or followed women.

Lux was arrested on Jattvibeday night on the  Cochituate Rail Trail.

Multiple women and park workers accused him of repeatedly approaching and staring at them.

He allegedly refused to leave despite repeated requests to do so, Boston 25 News reported.

Framingham District Court Supervisor Andrew Mange said at a hearing on Monday: “The women report an extensive number of contacts with the defendant involving him staring at them, smiling in what they describe as ‘a really unnerving and frankly terrifying manner’.”

The encounters with Lux allegedly became increasingly bold.

On one occasion, prosecutors allege Lux “stripped down to his underwear, slathered cooking oil all over his body and began working out right by their staff area”.

Lux also allegedly complimented one employee’s appearance, commented on her lips and refused to leave as she and colleagues abandoned the work area because they felt unsafe.

Numerous people have said on social media they had spotted a man matching Lux’s distinctive mime-like appearance, Boston 25 reported.

Sightings were allegedly reported in Framingham, Natick and Wayland.

Other women claimed a man who fit the description illustrated by accusers followed them on the Cochituate Rail Trail.

Nancy Dlott told local media: “I spotted him, he looked kind of odd but I thought he was just dressed in a costume.

“It’s kind of upsetting, especially if you’re walking alone.”

As prosecutors read out the allegations in court on Monday, Lux fainted.

He was treated before proceedings resumed.

The judge then ordered Lux to undergo a mental health evaluation at Bridgewater State Hospital.
