Parklife rocker Dave told me: “We made some fairly poor decisions early on in our career, which meant we had a few hits in America.
“But we’re nowhere near the kind of biggest celebrities in America, as they are.

“It’s not surprising that they would get some awards for that. They are a great band.”
Dave, whose debut solo photography exhibit at Indelible Fine Art in Brighton is now open, said he loves Oasis and backed the band’s 2025 reunion.

“I’ve been nagging them to do exactly that for years,” he said.
“I’m not saying I take credit for it, but I would like a percentage of the gross tour revenue, if that’s OK.”
Joking about Blur’s rivalry with Oasis in the Nineties, he added: “On the good side, it was the thing that took both bands into worldwide fame.
“That battle caught the imagination of the entire world. After that, both bands were household names in the UK and abroad.

“It took something like that really to catapult us up to the bottom rung of the top ladder.
“We are both now kind of stapled together at the hip. We’re now a sort of eight-legged beast.”
BOWIE TRIBUTE FROM MOLOTOVS
THE MOLOTOVS will open King’s Cross Summer Sounds in London on Thursday, with a special set inspired by David Bowie.
The free concert is in partnership with Lightroom, home of the Bowie: You’re Not Alone exhibition.
The show will also feature Jack Kaye and Ashaine White.
Each act will be playing one or two Bowie tracks, with performances due to start at Coal Drops Yard in London from 6.30pm.
The show from The Molotovs – brother and sister act Matt and Issey Cartlidge will serve as a warm-up to their Welcome To Urbia UK tour.
The pair last month announced they had put on a second concert at the O2 Kentish Town Forum in London on September 26 after the first date sold out.

BOY GEORGE says that he needs to see an ear specialist after claiming a show was “sabotaged” by sound engineers.
He believes they cranked up the volume in his ears at the gig at Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt at the weekend.
The Culture Club frontman, below, posted a furious statement on X before deleting it.
Fans grabbed the post and shared it online, with Boy George writing: “In Frankfurt the big boys on the monitors on stage decided to sabotage my performance.
“The in-ear monitors were so loud I could barely hear my voice and when I asked them three times to turn it down it just got louder.
“I have been doing this for a long time and I know the stink of sabotage. I will need to see an ear doctor in London as my ears are shot.
“Why a sad night. Thanks to the crowd for booing!”
During the show, Boy George complained he couldn’t hear, saying during It’s A Miracle: “It is really loud in my ear.
“I don’t know if it is sabotage situation but it is f***ing ridiculous.”
He later took out his ear monitors and stopped the music during his finale, shouting: “If that is what is going to go down I’ll do it without the f***ing music,” before walking off the stage.

IT was a case of keep calm and carry on for Katseye, as they returned to the stage after losing their second member this year.
The girl group, featuring Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel and Yoonchae Jeung, wore tiny pink and blue outfits at California’s Head In The Clouds festival.
They performed a day after Sophie Laforteza announced she was taking a break from the group.
She had missed the premiere of their film Wild Hearts last week and then a statement dropped saying she was taking a break to focus on her “mental health and wellness”.
Six months ago, Manon Bannerman also announced she was taking a hiatus for similar reasons and is yet to return. But they are ploughing on.
Their film is in cinemas tomorrow and new EP Wild comes out on Friday.
THE REYTONS, fronted by Jonny Yerrell are locked in a race with girl group Flo to land a No1 album on Friday.
The Rotherham four-piece’s re- cord, A Love Letter To A Broken Town, lies just ahead of Flo’s Therapy At The Club, which is in second place, according to early figures from Official Charts.

CREATIVE types are wanted to design a logo for London’s WorldPride hosting bid.
The call comes days after Madonna and Kylie Minogue sang together at the event in Amsterdam.
It is hoped the UK will stage the celebration in 2032 – which would mark the 60th anniversary of the city’s first Pride march.
The committee is inviting artists to design an original logo to capture London’s diversity, creativity and the significance of the event.
The winner gets £3,000, plus their logo used for the celebration and displayed on Outernet London’s digital screens.

ONE Show host Alex Jones has revealed the late Bonnie Tyler used a tea towel to wipe mugs minutes after cleaning up her dog’s wee with it.
Alex told Vernon Kay on his Radio 2 Tracks Of My Years feature that she thought Holding Out For A Hero singer Bonnie was “just lovely”.
She added: “Way before The One Show, I went to interview her in her house in Swansea. She used to live in a beautiful house overlooking the sea. I rang the doorbell and she went, ‘Hiya love, come in. Just watch there because the dog’s peed all over the hall,’ and she went, ‘Hang on a minute, stay where you are’.
“She went to get a tea towel from the kitchen, popped it on the floor, sort of stood on it and then went, ‘There you are, lovely’.
“Then half an hour later we went to have a cup of tea in the kitchen and she used the same tea towel – I think she’d just forgotten – to wipe all the mugs. But that’s why we love her.”
I’m not sure that would make me warm to any celebrity.

Anne said: “There’s a lot going on. Two movies have done unbelievably well and one movie was very well respected.”
At least the other two have been massive hits.
