BOREHAM WOOD star Abdul Abdulmalik has sensationally gone on strike as he tries to force a move away from the club.
Any transfer looks set to break the record £1million fee paid for a non-league player set by Jamie Vardy as he joined Leicester from Fleetwood in 2012.

The 23-year-old winger has been the subject of multiple offers throughout the summer, most notably from Swedish top-flight side Djurgardens.
And Boreham Wood Chairman Danny Hunter has discussed the Abdulmalik saga in his ‘Chairman’s Notes’ ahead of Boreham Wood’s fixture tomorrow.

As well as seeming to accuse an interested club of tapping the player up, Hunter revealed that Abdulmalik has “downed tools” in order to force a move.
Before he said: “Until the window has closed, the ball is now firmly in the buying club’s, player’s, agent’s and advisors’ court because if our valuation is met, then Abdul can go.

“For clarity, as far as I’m concerned, the transfer fee is agreed.
“It’s now simply about reaching agreement on some add-ons based on the buying club’s league and UEFA success while Abdul is at their club.
“There are some appearance add-ons, a simple international clause should Abdul become an international (which would increase his worth tenfold) and a fair sell-on. That’s pretty much the saga/story in a nutshell.
“At the moment, Abdul is refusing to train with us or play, though he is still very much our player and has two years left on his contract.”

Djurgardens have done the most to try and secure Abdulmalik’s signature.
They’ve seen bids worth £750,000, £1million and most recently £1.5m all rejected.
The Swedish club’s model reportedly works around developing promising talent and selling them on for profit – Abdulmalik looks like a great opportunity from this perspective.
He ran riot for Boreham Wood last season, winning their Player of the Year award and playing an instrumental role in their near-miss at promotion.
Abdulmalik was running rings around opposition right-backs for fun week-in-week-out.
And with the current level seemingly too low for him, he will be eyeing the Championship or even Premier League football in years to come.
