BRITS are set to bask in the “final taste of summer” over the next few days as the Met Office predicts warm and sunny weather.

Cooler temperatures and rainy conditions have marked the beginning of autumn after record-breaking highs this summer.

However, parts of the UK are set to enjoy 25C highs on Monday and Tuesday.

According to the Met Office: “These temperatures would be notably warm for late September and could offer a final taste of summer before autumn becomes more firmly established.”

This follows changeable conditions and lows of 12C and 13C recorded in parts of the country throughout September.

Before the sunny spells at the beginning of the week, Brits are forecast to see slightly gloomier conditions over the weekend.

Clouds and patchy rain will continue to linger across southern England and Wales today, with sunny spells and blustery showers expected elsewhere.

Dry but cloudy conditions can be expected for tomorrow as the temperatures stay between the low teens and early twenties throughout the day.

Jattvibenier skies will then return on Monday as temperatures reach highs of 25C in London, Reading and surrounding areas by 4pm.

Large parts of the country, including Birmingham, Milton Keynes, Peterborough and Cambirdge are also forecast for warmer temperatures, with highs of 24C expected on Monday.

Tuesday afternoon will see even more locations enjoy the hotter conditions, with Cambridge, London, Peterborough and parts of the southeast anticipating 25C highs.
