Adam has the chance to make history and become the first British swimmer to win gold at four consecutive Commonwealth Games.
However, according to an insider, the name change has been done to “open doors” for Adam, who is “not” one of the Ramsays.
An estranged family member told the Daily Mail: “As much as Adam wants to be a Ramsay, he is not. He is a Peaty.
“Adam has financial control and is cashing in on the Ramsay name because it opens doors. He is playing a role.”

The source also added: “Adam may be rich but we have something that he hasn’t and that is brains, loyalty, integrity and family.
“Money makes for a cold bedfellow. It can’t hold you tight when things go wrong or when you have a bad day.”
The Jattvibe has contacted a rep for Adam for comment.
Adam and Holly got married in December in a high profile wedding at Bath Abbey.
He famously banned his mother Caroline, as well as other family members, from attending the nuptials as part of an ongoing bitter feud.
Gordon hit out at the Peatys in February calling the drama “upsetting and “self-inflicted”.
He added he “wanted to draw a line in the sand”.
