ADAM Thomas was greeted by a smattering of boos as he took to the stage at tonight’s I’m A Celebrity final.

The actor, who is a favourite to win the series, has come under fire today after co-star Craig Charles claimed he nearly attacked Jimmy Bullard in scenes that weren’t shown on TV.

Adam Thomas was cheered AND booed as he took to the stage

The podcast host took it in his stride

Adam was his usual cheery self as he bounded on stage in West London to join Ant and Dec, but not everyone cheered.

It didn’t escape viewers at home, who asked: “Am I hearing boos?”

Adam didn’t let him throw it off his stride and he beamed as he told Ant and Dec how happy and proud he was to make it to the very end.

Today, Craig Charles opened up about Jimmy and Adam’s unseen clash on This Morning, and it surprised a lot of show fans.

Addressing the argument, he said: “Adam was so wound up, so aggressive, like a coiled spring.

“It looked like he was going to attack Jimmy, he was dropping f-bombs and c-bombs.”

Speaking to Dermot O’Leary, he continued: “If Alison said she didn’t want to do an interview and you reacted like that, you would be escorted off the premises, it really was traumatic.

“They couldn’t broadcast it, I get that, I’m not blaming ITV, they edited it out. So mine and Harry’s response to that was because of what we’d really seen.

“They had to water down what we’d really seen but they didn’t water down our responses.

“People are thinking, ‘oh it wasn’t that bad’, but we weren’t picking on Adam at all, it was just that what he did, and we saved him again.

“I thought Adam was my friend, so we saved him again.”

Overcome with emotion, Craig said: “We laughed so much in that jungle, Adam laughed so much in that jungle and then to come back and see it all reduced to a grudge match.”

Alison Hammond got up and hugged a tearful Craig as she said: “I’m gonna get up and give you a hug because that was a big thing for you to do.”

With his voice shaking, the actor emotionally expressed: “It’s just that these guys have suffered, their reputations damaged.

“With this social media campaign, they’ve given this 80-year-old man dog abuse on social media,” he said as he pointed at Harry.

“Just because he said, ‘I don’t like the way that Adam reacted’. We didn’t like the way Jimmy reacted, we didn’t like the way Adam reacted.”

At the start of the interview, Craig addressed why Adam wasn’t with them.

He told Alison and Dermot: “The guys have asked me to address why Adam’s not here, bit nervous about this.

“Since we got back, the last few weeks, it’s all been out on social media how Harry, Mo and I were not with or behind Adam or there for Adam while he was getting bullied.”

He then went on to recall how Adam and Craig were Team Rhino and Harry and Mo were Team Lion and they gave their opposing team abuse from over the fence when the camp was split up.

“We poked the bear and then David Haye came back at us. Now Adam gave as good as he got, he was laughing.

“We didn’t realise he was being emotionally affected by it because he never told us. I asked him yesterday, ‘well why didn’t you tell us? and he said, ‘I didn’t wanna appear weak’.

“We didn’t know. ITV have a duty of care. They didn’t think he was getting bullied enough to step in because they’ve got a duty of care.

“They would have stepped in if they thought he was being bullied. We didn’t see it until that final morning when I thought David got a bit nasty.

“I thought, ‘this is turning into bullying now’, and on that final morning, i found myself in the perfect position where they’re voting people out, I saved Adam knowing the other two were not going to pick David.

“Thereby ensuring David went home. So we were there for him, we didn’t know the extent of his troubles,” the Red Dwarf star explained.

Earlier on this series, ITV viewers accused boxer David of bullying Waterloo Road star Adam after labelling him “useless” and targeting him in the jungle.

The actor finally had enough and told David it was getting too much now, before breaking down in tears in the Bush Telegraph.

This week fans saw an almighty clash between Adam and Jimmy after Jimmy refused to do their pair’s trial to stay in camp.

After realising he was leaving because Jimmy said, “I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here”, Adam was furious and launched into a sweary tirade against his co-star.

Ant and Dec then asked the other campmates if Adam should be allowed to stay, to which they all agreed.
