Amid a renewed push to expand its economic footprint in China, India showcased its growing investment appeal and supply-chain capabilities during a high-level business outreach in Shanghai, leveraging the momentum of recently concluded free trade agreements with New Zealand and the European Union.India’s Consul General in Shanghai, Pratik Mathur, joined members of the Indian Association Shanghai at a business engagement hosted by leading international corporate law firm D’Andrea and Partners, where discussions centred on India’s accelerating growth trajectory and expanding investment landscape.The outreach comes as New Delhi intensifies efforts to deepen trade integration and attract global capital, following back-to-back trade agreements aimed at widening market access and strengthening economic partnerships.Highlighting rising investor interest, Mathur noted the recent expansion of D’Andrea and Partners’ operations in India, describing it as a facilitator for enhanced collaboration between global firms and Indian enterprises, and a catalyst for increased investment flows.Senior representatives of the firm, including Managing Partner Carlo D’Andrea and Equity Partner Matteo Zhi, were cited as having held a series of meetings in India with partners and clients to explore market development, cross-border cooperation and future business opportunities.Addressing investors and stakeholders, the Consul General underlined that India’s ongoing reform cycle is centred on enhancing global competitiveness, deepening localisation and accelerating the adoption of cutting-edge technologies across sectors. He also stressed the government’s focus on building resilient global supply chains while advancing the twin goals of self-reliance and long-term economic transformation under the Viksit Bharat vision.Sustainable development, he added, remains integral to this strategy, with the Indian diaspora playing a key role in driving innovation-led solutions in critical sectors such as energy and food security, alongside a growing emphasis on green technologies.
