ROY KEANE has taken a shot at his old, fierce rival Alf-Inge Haaland in the wake of Norway’s exit to England in the World Cup.

Haaland, who is superstar striker Erling’s father, claimed that Norway were ‘robbed’ during the 2-1 loss that saw the Three Lions advance to the semi-finals.

Jude Bellingham bagged a brace to get the result, but there were a couple of at least debatable calls throughout the game which included Norway having a second goal ruled out for a foul by Erling Haaland before a corner was delivered.

Alf-Inge tweeted: “Well done Bellingham and referee.”

He also responded to journalist Henry Winter‘s analysis of the game, adding: “Saved by the referee. Hope you win the WC now. But feel we got robbed today.”

Speaking on Stick to Football, brought to you by Sky Bet, Wright did not agree with the complaints coming from the Haaland family at all.

He said: “Is that sour grapes from Alf-Inge Haaland, saying well done to Bellingham and the referee? I think that was just a bit of a low blow from him.

“He can’t surely be referring to that [disallowed goal] because that was just a ridiculous push [from Haaland].

“In that particular moment, he’s like six or seven inches taller, why does he need to be that aggressive with him? It’s a massive foul. You can’t be talking that.”

Gary Neville also sided with Wright in his analysis, but Keane actually started off mildly agreeing with Alf-Inge.

He said: “I think the referee was giving England a lot of calls, 50-50s. I’m not talking about the major ones.

“He seemed to be just on the side of England which can happen in a game. I’m not sitting here going, ‘He’s cost Norway’, absolutely not. But there was calls when you’re going… it could have gone the other way.”

But then he made a jab at his old foe.

Keane said: “Will he remember the game? Because he always seems to be drinking alcohol at the matches, the dad.

“No, he does! If you’re having a drink then you’re seeing the game differently.

“Listen, I’ll always be trying to go the other way [against England] a little bit, if it’s 50-50, but the push is a push and then he heads it, so there you go.”

Keane was handed one of the most famous red cards in Premier League history after going in studs up on Alf-Inge during a Manchester derby in 2001.

The Man United legend has always maintained that tackle was revenge after Haaland took joy in him getting injured in one of their previous encounters.

Although it’s widely believed Keane’s tackle retired Haaland, it later emerged that Haaland had well documented, pre-existing problems with his left knee that led to him calling it quits just months later.

Keane’s tackle hit Haaland on his right knee.
