Pictures shared by Atletico Universe showed signs carrying the message “JULIAN FUERA” – meaning “JULIAN OUT” – around the entrance to the facility.
Another displayed Alvarez’s No19 shirt number inside a red prohibition symbol, with the protest reportedly organised by members of hardcore supporters’ group Frente Atletico.

Reports in Spain suggest Atletico would rather do business with the Gunners than allow Alvarez to strengthen LaLiga rivals Barcelona – the club believed to be the forward’s preferred destination.
Alvarez has made his desire to leave clear during a tense summer, although Atletico have repeatedly insisted they do not want to lose one of their biggest stars.
Diego Simeone has publicly backed the World Cup winner and described him as a key figure, but Alvarez was still left out of the squad for Wednesday’s 2-0 LaLiga-opening victory over Malaga.

There were also anti-Alvarez chants from sections of the home support during that game, despite the striker not featuring, before the posters appeared around the club’s training base.
Alvarez joined Atletico from Manchester City in 2024 and has since scored 49 goals in 106 appearances, but his stand-off with the Spanish giants has left his long-term future increasingly uncertain.
Arsenal will now be keeping a close eye on developments as the September 1 transfer deadline approaches – with the growing backlash in Madrid potentially increasing the pressure on Atletico to finally cash in.
