But the Gunners still have work to do before any switch from Old Trafford is completed.
Ogunneye also headed out on loan last season, making 21 appearances for Newport County before United recalled him in January.
The London-born right-back is yet to make his senior Red Devils debut but has already had a taste of the first-team set-up.
He has been named in several matchday squads and was on the bench for United’s dramatic FA Cup semi-final win over Coventry at Wembley in 2024.
And Arsenal’s move for the pair would give them the chance to turn the tables on their Prem rivals.
United have already pinched two of the Gunners’ brightest youngsters in recent seasons, with Ayden Heaven and Chido Obi both swapping the Emirates for Old Trafford.
Arsenal are not stopping with the United duo either, with a move for Cardiff City whizkid Axel Donczew, 16, reportedly close to being completed.
Liverpool’s England youth striker Vincent Joseph is another player they are closing in on, while Crystal Palace youngster Mylo Bernard is also wanted.
And the Gunners have already raided North London rivals Tottenham this summer for Elijah Upson, 18, the son of former Arsenal and England defender Matthew Upson.
