Andoni Iraola will hope to preserve his unbeaten run as Liverpool manager when he visits the Vitality Stadium today.
The Spanish coach has enjoyed a reasonable start to life on Merseyside, going all six competitive matches without defeat.
But he’s not set the world alight. A return of six points from his first four Premier League matches is something of a disappointment, as is failing to win either of their two opening league matches for the third time in 63 years.
Successive draws against Newcastle and Nottingham Forest were followed by two solid wins, especially the latter in the Champions League against Atletico Madrid.
But Liverpool were unable to build on that momentum when failing to score against Fulham, a side who have already shipped seven times this season.
A much-changed starting XI dispatched Tottenham in midweek, and Iraola will hope his rested side can travel south and take the spoils in a fixture they’ve enjoyed over the years.
Last season’s 3-2 defeat aside, Liverpool have won the last six meetings with Bournemouth by an aggregate scoreline of 18-4. In fact, of their last 15 meetings, the Reds have won 13 times.
Life for Iraola’s replacement, Marco Rose, hasn’t exactly got off to a flying start either.
Rose is yet to taste victory in the Premier League after four matches, drawing the last three against Everton, Newcastle and Brentford.
The biggest disappointment for Rose will have been the fact his side were in winning positions in all of those fixtures, three of which they held until the 84th minute, only to be undone late on.
Nevertheless, the Vitality has been something of a fortress in recent times, with Bournemouth unbeaten in their last 12 on home turf, a run stretching back to January 3 when they were beaten narrowly by Arsenal.

Cody Gakpo has been sensational for Liverpool this season. The Dutchman, who was close to a departure over the summer, has quickly settled back into the fold with two goals and four assists in five appearances.
Having missed the Atletico game through injury, Gakpo is up and running again following two goal involvements against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup midweek. The numbers back it up, too. Gakpo leads Liverpool for expected assists, while his non-penalty goal involvement is bettered only by Alexander Isak.
He’s also provided two goals and two assists against Bournemouth in his last six meetings with the club.
