Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Jattvibeday interacted with CEOs of some of India’s leading space startups in Delhi, praising their energy, ambition and innovative spirit and urging them to explore new applications of space technology to make people’s lives easier.During the interaction on National Space Day, the Prime Minister appreciated the entrepreneurs’ insights and optimism about the future of India’s space sector. He encouraged space companies to look beyond conventional applications and identify new ways in which their technologies could address everyday challenges and improve the quality of life.Modi also highlighted the importance of consistency in government policy, saying the confidence placed by startups in the government’s decisions was significant.“The biggest thing is that you placed your trust in the word of the government. It has always been my view that whatever decision we take, we must remain consistent in it,” the Prime Minister said.Emphasising India’s growing potential in the global space industry, PM Modi said the country should reach a stage where international attention naturally turns to Indian startups whenever a major breakthrough takes place.“The world must now be searching for Indian startups, wondering, ‘Who are the players in this?’ Because whenever a breakthrough occurs, people’s attention turns to it immediately,” he said.The Prime Minister called for greater collaboration among startups, space agencies and the wider technology ecosystem. He also pointed to the return of professionals who had previously moved abroad, describing the trend as encouraging for India’s space ambitions.He said India should create an ecosystem attractive enough for international professionals to view the country as a preferred destination for careers in the space sector.“I believe we should create such an aura that across the world, people in this sector feel, ‘If you want to build a career, go to India.’ Connect with Indian startups. Connect with Indian space agencies,” he said.PM Modi expressed confidence that the growth of India’s space startups could help attract talent from across the world and strengthen the country’s position in the global space economy.“I firmly believe that because of you all, we can pull the entire global talent pool like a magnet,” he said.
