Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu has made a series of strong allegations following the recent Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids on premises linked to Punjab Minister Sanjeev Arora, intensifying the political row as the state goes to election next year.Speaking to a news channel after the raids, Bittu claimed that Raghav Chadha could turn a witness in the matter and may reveal details about alleged financial irregularities involving influential figures in Punjab. He suggested that Chadha’s evolving political stance could lead to disclosures that may impact several individuals connected to the case.Bittu also accused Sanjeev Arora of misusing land that was allegedly allotted for industrial development. According to him, a large parcel on the Ludhiana–Chandigarh road—intended to boost industry and generate employment—was instead used for constructing residential flats for private gain. However, when asked to provide evidence supporting these claims, Bittu said it was now up to the media to investigate and bring out the facts.Further escalating his allegations, Bittu claimed that Arora frequently travelled to Dubai to manage financial dealings, hinting at possible overseas links in the issues. These claims have not been independently verified, and no official confirmation has been issued by the investigating agencies to date.Referring again to Raghav Chadha, Bittu asserted that tensions between Chadha and the Aam Aadmi Party had become evident. “Obviously, he will provide all the details,” Bittu said, adding that officials allegedly involved in such transactions would also face action as investigations progress.Addressing questions about the timing of the ED raids, Bittu defended the raids, stating that agencies like the ED and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) function independently and are not controlled by political authorities. He dismissed suggestions that the raids were politically motivated. In a separate Facebook post, Bittu shared an image of Sanjeev Arora along with the caption “All will be caught,” reinforcing his stance that the raids will widen in the coming days.
