But some critics have panned the show, with the Independent calling it “boring” and “tedious”.

“The feedback has been incredible. Thanks for watching, I’m glad you’re all enjoying it!”

Fans replied by calling the show “a great watch” and “excellent insight into your family”.

One added: “It’s actually decent. Good insight into the world of horse racing too.”

Owen was hoping his new show would help get rid of his “most boring man title” and show a new side to him.

The documentary aims to put the Owens on the map and rival famous sporting families like the Beckhams, the Rooneys and the Furys.

It follows Owen at his huge, £4million North Wales mansion, and he also shows off his impressive work at racehorse training facility Manor House Stables, which he founded in 2006.

The show also showcases his daughter Gemma and her horse racing career.

She features heavily and will no doubt attract new fans after her stint on Love Island.

But some have taken issue with some of the more mundane elements of the show – including Owen eating dairylea cheese triangles on toast and his passion for orcas.

Owen was a superstar in his football days as he won the Ballon d’Or in 2001 while playing for Liverpool.

He scored 158 goals in 297 appearances for the Reds before moving to Real Madrid in 2004.

Owen spent just one year with the Spanish giants as he returned to England with Newcastle United.

After four years at St James’ Park, Owen rounded off his career at Manchester United – where he won a Premier League title in 2011 – and Stoke City.

Since retiring in 2013, Owen has moved into punditry and commentary.
