A BODY has been found in the desperate search for two men who went missing from a coastal town in Wales.

Simon Wilson and Connor Parfitt was last seen at 6.30pm on July 21 near to Hafan-y-Mor, Pwllheli, on the Llyn Peninsula.

The pair were thought to be heading towards the coastline with inflatable kayaks.

A huge search operation was launched and police have now revealed Connor’s body was found on a beach in Aberystwyth.

The 24-year-old’s family have now been informed and are being supported by officers.

Simon’s whereabouts is still unknown and search operations are ongoing.

A North Wales Police spokesperson said: “A man’s body has sadly been discovered during searches for two missing people.

“Officers were called at around 12.30pm yesterday, July 26, to reports of a body being found on a beach in Aberystwyth.

“The man has now been identified as Connor Parfitt, one of the men who we circulated as missing from Pwllheli last week. Connor’s family and the coroner have been informed.

“Sadly, Simon Wilson has not yet been found and officers are continuing to support his family.”

Chief Inspector Stephen Pawson added: “My thoughts remain with both Connor and Simon’s families at this incredibly difficult time.

“This is not the outcome any of us had hoped for, including the teams involved in the searches.

“Thank you to partner agencies, volunteers and members of the public who assisted in our searches over the last six days.

“We continue to appeal for any information or sightings of Simon to contact us quoting reference O120829.”

This comes as a heroic girl, 15, died alongside her mum while trying to save a boy, 7, from the tide in West Mersea, near Colchester, in Essex.

Selina Rahman, 41, and her daughter Samia Rahman were among a group of five caught up in the horror.

Cops and coastguard crews were scrambled to Sea View Holiday Park at around 5.30pm on July 22.

A seven-year-old boy was reportedly rushed to hospital in a coma.
