A TEEN boy has been charged with murder after a man was allegedly stabbed to death in a shocking fight over a hat.
Zane Robson, 22, was found with horrific stab wounds on Mann Street in Gosford, on the NSW Central Coast, at about 7.30pm on Tuesday.

Paramedics rushed to treat him at the scene before he was taken to Gosford Hospital, where he tragically died.
Police swooped on a home in Lake Haven at about 1.30am on Saturday, arresting a 15-year-old boy and a 45-year-old woman.

Neither can be identified for legal reasons.
The teenager was charged with murder and sensationally refused bail, with the case due before a Children’s Bail Court later on Saturday.

The woman was charged with hindering the apprehension of a person accused of committing a serious offence and appeared before the NSW Bail Division Court.
During the hearing, her solicitor Javid Faiz told the court the deadly confrontation had allegedly erupted over a hat.
He said: “I spoke to the detective in relation to the [alleged] murder… police say that it is not a gang-related type but rather that it is something that has occurred over a hat.”
Mr Faiz said the woman would fiercely contest the charges against her.
He said: “There is nothing to suggest that [she] was aware that there was a warrant at the time.
“[Police] have observed a female, they’ve knocked on the door and observed a female.
“It’s not one [case] where the young person has then taken off, the young person was found under the bed.”
Mr Faiz also told the court CCTV captured evidence of “how it all started”.
The court heard the woman cares for an autistic child and had only recently secured stable accommodation after being left homeless following the death of her partner.
She was granted bail on the strict condition she remain at the Lake Haven address and report to police every week.
Her matter will return to Wyong Local Court on August 11.
Mr Robson was identified earlier this week after his devastated family shared a heartbreaking tribute through a GoFundMe campaign.
A relative said: “No family is ever prepared for a loss like this.
“On the evening of July 28, 2026, our family was devastated by the sudden and tragic loss of a much-loved son, grandson, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend.
“At just 22 years old, his life was taken far too soon in an [alleged] senseless act of knife violence in Gosford.”
The family said they were eternally grateful to first responders and “complete strangers” who desperately helped Mr Robson during his final moments.
They said: “In the middle of such a heartbreaking tragedy, knowing that people showed him kindness, compassion, and courage brings us immense comfort during what would have been a scary and lonely time.”
The family remembered Zane as a “bubbly, happy and inquisitive child” who adored motorbikes and following his siblings around.
“While Zane had his own personal struggles in life, he was a remarkably kind person who always showed deep love, empathy and compassion toward his parents, big brothers, little sister, family and friends.
“[He] always said “I love you” at the end of a phone call. He will be missed more than words can say.”
His grieving family thanked those who donated to the fundraiser, which will help cover funeral costs and support his devastated loved ones.
