THE UK’s oldest seawater lido has been open for almost two centuries – and features plenty of summertime family fun.
Families are able to swim at the historic site and take part in a number of activities.

Lymington Sea Water Baths, in Hampshire, is the oldest open-air natural seawater swimming pool in the country, having been in operation for the last 193 years.
The 110-metre pool dates back to 1833, when the Lymington Bath and Improvement Company was formed, and has welcomed bathers since.
Now, the baths are owned by Lymington and Pennington Town Council, and gained Grade 2 listed status in 2012.
The site is now home to the South Coast’s largest inflatable obstacle course – 120 metres of inflatable fun which also features a 7-metre climbing tower dropping straight into the seawater.

The area hosts aqua jousting and has dedicated stand-up paddleboarding zones.
Visitors are also able to hire out kayaks and walk on the water using zorbs – inflatable human-sized hamster balls.
A sauna has been introduced this year, where those brave enough can dive straight into the cold water after their sauna session.
Beneath the water, a membrane covers the open-bottom of the pool to prevent coastal silt from entering the swimming area.
The unheated seawater attraction also encourages those entering to be wary of cool temperatures, where wetsuits can be hired for the day.
Priced at just £3 for adults and £2 for children for a standard 2-hour entry, the lido offers an affordable option for a summer day out.
